Meeting rooms and Conference community will officially return the re-named in memory of Mike Preston, former leader of the Council who died of cancer earlier this year.
Mr. Preston widow Beryl will unveil the plaque of the new name in the main meeting room on Woodgate Chambers, old Loughborough Magistrates ‘ Court building, which now will be called Preston Hall.
Charnwood Borough Council consultation with the Board from across the political spectrum and there was unanimous support for the proposal.
Mrs. Preston said: “I think it’s a lovely tribute to Mike. He has been really happy with it. So wonderful to know that his political life means something to people so much. ”
Councillor David Slater, Chairman of the Board, said: “Mike is committed to making use of this important building in the Centre of Loughborough to be shared by the voluntary sector and the community and of the Council.
